New Test Center in Sheldon

Laboratory

The Belgian company PRG, known for its technological developments in the field of lining materials, announced the creation of its own testing laboratory, which will examine the thermal characteristics of coatings.

Experts attribute this decision to the company's recent receipt of a very large order for the development of protective coatings for the UK aerospace industry. It is noted, in particular, that the described test center from PRG will be built in the English city of Sheldon, where there are already enterprises of the corresponding profile.

It is planned to install a full range of equipment in the laboratory, which will allow a qualitative assessment of all stages of the process of applying surface coatings: from their preparation to drying of painted surfaces. Two modern spray booths will be installed - in one new paints and varnishes will be tested at various temperature and relative humidity indicators, and in the other it is supposed to evaluate the color stability of the applied coating over time.

Peter Wind, technical manager of PRG, noted that the test technology will allow for comprehensive testing of paint and varnish products in conditions of simulating any point of the earth's climate - from wet Singapore to dry Dubai.
