Types, properties and order of application of paints

Paint ХВ includes perchlorovinyl base and is used for painting facades. This paint material is produced by mixing perchlorovinyl with xylene or solvent at a temperature of 70 degrees. When the composition dries, the volatiles evaporate and the surface acquires a solid layer with high protective and decorative qualities.

Advantages and disadvantages

The positive characteristics of perchlorovinyl paints include:

  • high adhesion with a variety of surfaces;
  • deep penetration into the material, which ensures reliable protection not only of the surface, but also of other parts of the structure;
  • coating strength;
  • resistance to different temperature conditions;
  • color fastness (paint does not fade for a long time).

Perchlorovinyl paints do not fade in the sun

Perchlorovinyl compounds also have disadvantages:

  • the paint should not be applied in hot or rainy weather (ultraviolet and too much water violate the quality of the composition);
  • insufficient elasticity, as a result of which increased requirements are imposed on the surface - it must be perfectly even, otherwise cracking of the coating cannot be avoided.

Advice! To speed up the drying time of the surface, it is recommended to add a soap solution to the composition.

Ground enamel ХВ-0278

This composition is made on the basis of the requirements set forth in TU 2312-007-60414707-2013. The paint is used for metal surfaces on which there is residual dense rust or scale.

The main task of XB-0278 is to give the material anti-corrosion properties. Enamel is used for coloring large-sized parts with a complex profile, which are difficult to clear of traces of corrosion. XB-0278 is indispensable when painting hard-to-reach rusted areas (for example, the bottom or wings of cars, the periphery of industrial equipment). XB-0278 performs three functions at once: rust converter, anticorrosive primer and protective enamel. The soil penetrates the metal layer affected by corrosion and inhibits further rusting. At the same time, protection against future corrosion is ensured. XB-0278 also protects the metal from the harmful effects of aggressive gas environments, chemicals and moisture.

Rust enamel

Enamel primer is able to act as the only type of paint. However, if necessary, it is permissible to cover it with decorative paintwork material.

Before applying enamel, the surface is cleaned of old paint, easily removable rust and scale, as well as dust. Next, the metal is degreased with a solvent.

The paint is pre-mixed until uniform, and then applied to the metal with a spray gun, brush or roller. Usually 2-3 layers are sufficient, but if necessary, an increase in coating thickness is allowed. Paint consumption averages 1 kilogram per 7-10 square meters of surface.

Note! It is not permissible to apply enamel on a damp or icy surface.

Each layer dries within half an hour. Finally, the coating is ready for use one hour after applying the last coat. However, serious mechanical stress should be avoided throughout the day. The life of the coating is 10-12 years in moderate climatic conditions.

XB-0278 is produced in buckets of 20 or 25 kilograms, as well as in banks of 900 grams. Store soil-enamel at a temperature from minus 25 to plus 30 degrees. The shelf life of XB-0278 is 6 months.
