Product Description
Enamel ML-12 is produced according to state standard - GOST 9754-76. This is a paint in the form of a suspension containing various pigments diluted in alkyd and other resins, organic solvents. It is recommended to paint it with surfaces in two layers, with preliminary priming with putty V-KF-093, V-KCh-0207. This is a guarantee of the preservation of the aesthetic and operational properties of the product up to 5 years in temperate and cold climates. In a tropical climate, coverage will last up to a year.
The enamel ML-12 is realized in large containers, the minimum volume is 18 kg. Small packages are not presented by manufacturers. After application to metal surfaces, a uniform film forms on them without inclusions, impurities, not delaminating. The paint is available in different colors, in stores you can find:

Enamel ML-12 is considered automotive, because its most common application is the painting of cars and trucks, bicycles, and motor vehicles. The tool is suitable for painting the body and individual parts of vehicles that must be pre-primed. Often, paint is used to create a protective coating on construction, municipal, road equipment, buses. You can use it for painting any metal products that are used indoors and outdoors.
Technical parameters of the product
Technical specifications are prescribed in the state standard for this protective enamel. The colors of the product are regulated according to the file of samples, where each shade is assigned an individual number. The number and color are indicated in the decoding, for example: red paint - ML-12 - 46. Permissible deviations in color are also indicated there. The coating to be created must meet the following requirements:
- lack of wrinkles, cracks;
- lack of extraneous inclusions;
- lack of smallpox;
- small shagreen is possible (resembles an “orange peel”).
According to the measurement with a VZ-246 viscometer at a temperature of twenty degrees of heat, the viscosity of the product is 70–120 units. Other technical parameters of the product are as follows (vary depending on color):
- The degree of gloss of the protective color paint is 58%, in other colors - 35–45%.
- The degree of milling - 10-15 microns.
- The amount of non-volatile substances is 44-60%.
- The drying period of enamel is 35 minutes at a temperature of about 130 degrees.
- The spreading power of the film is 35-100 grams / square meter.
- The elasticity of the coating during bending is 3 mm.
- The strength of the protective coating upon impact (U-1 device is used) - 45;
- Adhesion to the surface - 1 point;
- Lightfastness of the coating - from 4 hours.
Application Procedure
Before painting, surface preparation is mandatory. To do this, metal parts and solid products are cleaned from rust, dirt, dust. It is acceptable to use sandblasting. Old products should be sanded carefully beforehand. Also, the surface must be degreased and primed. The number of primer layers is 2, each of them must completely dry.
Before application, the enamel should be diluted - for this purpose solvent, xylene, R-650, 647 solvents are used, and RE-2B, RE-1B diluents can also be used for the solution. After adding the solvent, the paint is mixed, left for 15 minutes, after which it is ready for use. The amount of solvent should not exceed ¼ the volume of enamel.
Application features are as follows:
- consumption per square meter - 120-150 grams;
- spray application;
- the number of layers of enamel is two.
The first layer is recommended to be dried by hot drying. If this is not possible, then it can be dried at room temperature using Izur hardener. The second layer is dried for half an hour at a temperature of 130 degrees, or also using a hardener.
