The Housing Issue is a popular television show that has been on the NTV channel since 2001. In this program, famous designers, architects, decorators help to make repairs in the apartment, and the result becomes a complete surprise for the owners.

The bedroom of Eugene and Tamara Kachalov
Muscovites, who are ardent admirers of the work of "Aria" - the Kachalov family - contacted the organizers of the project themselves. They dreamed of remaking the old bedroom into a new, cozy room in the Gothic style. In addition to dark colors, among the wishes of the owners there was a minimum amount of decor.
Instead of a brutal bedroom, the family received a strange room in an eclectic style, and quite bright. The lighting was very bright and even spread to the partition. The wardrobe was made of fairly cheap plywood, cacti and ferns were placed, and the bedroom itself began to remotely resemble an office.
Evgeny Kachalov literally became furious - he was so disappointed with the work of the designers. The man tuned in for a surprise, and the latter turned out to be unpleasant. About a week later, the legs fell off the bed, and other design errors “crawled out”. The owner tried to contact the organizers of the program, but he did not succeed.

The kitchen of Irina Muravyova
The famous actress Irina Muravyova and her husband, Leonid Eidlin, also took part in the program "Housing issue." They wanted the old kitchen to look modern, stylish. Among the wishes was a fireplace and room decoration in the Russian style. When Irina Muravyova, after 5 weeks of repair, saw the finished building, she did not even want to be in it. The room became closer, with a raised floor and a fake fireplace. The latter completely blocked the room, creating a lot of inconvenience.
In addition to aesthetic problems, the kitchen carried a real danger to the family. The gas stove was installed incorrectly, the hose was too long, the place was incorrectly selected. In the event of a breakdown, the gas in the apartment could just explode! After some time, the organizers redid the kitchen again, and it became quite attractive.

“Kitchen in large strokes” by Ksenia Avteneva
Moskvichke Avteneva also repaired the kitchen designers and finishers from the program "Housing issue". Ksenia was warned in advance that in 2 weeks it was necessary to take out the furniture, paste over all the things in the remaining rooms with film, cover the floor and move out.
The repair lasted more than 2 months, and 1.5 million rubles were spent on updating 10 square meters. After the first “meeting” with the new kitchen, the hostess was delighted, but then it turned out that the interior was very impractical.
Using the kitchen has become very inconvenient. So, the tap handle rested against the wall, and it was inconvenient to turn on the water, a large gap formed between the wall and the countertop. Walls and floors made of concrete instantly absorb all the dirt, and it is almost impossible to remove oil stains from such a coating. As a result, the owners themselves had to redo some parts of the kitchen in order to optimize their presence in it.
Living room of Ekaterina Gorokhova
Catherine, the mother of three children, had long dreamed of renovating, as the apartment was in poor condition. She wanted to remake the nursery, but the organizers of the program "Housing issue" was only ready to design the living room. After obtaining consent, the team began to repair.
Initially, the finished living room looked fresh, unbroken and pretty stylish. True, the pattern of droplets on a hanging stand under a TV was so strange and resembled sperm cells that immediately did not please the residents.
The green curbstone, in addition, turned out to be not too high-quality - the children played on it, after which it broke off and was replaced by a more modest and reliable one. Also, Ekaterina Gorokhova was upset by the light, tightly glued to the floor carpet, which cannot be washed normally.
Family kitchen
The residents of this apartment are very friendly - the whole family likes to regularly arrange gatherings in the kitchen, but this room in the apartment is very small. They wanted to get a room with a changed layout, which would be more spacious and functional.
Many details of the updated kitchen greatly disappointed the owners. The result of the repair was a dark, gloomy room with embossed coatings and a black chandelier, which scattered light poorly. Instead of unusual design solutions, an interesting layout, Podroyko got a minimalist kitchen with a lot of unnecessary cabinets.
Pretty much upset the owners of the monochrome interior. Two and a half walls and the floor are covered with a dark brown cage, from which it immediately begins to ripple in the eyes. The cabinets are dark, deep, the things in them literally fail, and it is difficult to get them back, and to examine the "depths" you need to use a flashlight. The TV appears from the cabinet after clicking on the facade, while the door hangs at the level of the forehead of the residents. We have to dodge it, passing by.
It seemed strange to the family the designers' decision to install a table from a set of garden furniture with a hole for an umbrella. This table also turned out to be unstable - heavy dishes fell down from it. Sockets are located at the sink so that the instrument wires are in the water, which is completely unsafe. The wall above the door is partially covered with paint, and this is very striking. Get used to the new interior with the Podroyko family did not work.

The owners of the apartment are a theatrical family of four. They live in a house built back in 1907, where the ceilings are very high, beautiful, with a complex structure with rounded corners. The walls in the apartment are thick, there are many niches for pickles and jams. After the expansion of the family, there was a need to combine a kitchen and a living room. At the same time, the owners wanted to preserve the architecture and atmosphere of the old house, be sure to make the room light, in warm colors.
After completing the three-month repair, Mazurenko was unpleasantly surprised, very confused, and then for a long time they got used to the situation. The joint room began to resemble a porch. The walls were painted in a gray-olive tone, which made the atmosphere dull. Many shelves appeared along the walls, and some of them were completely useless.
There were no familiar hanging cupboards in the kitchen; they were replaced with internal (built-in) ones. The designers hid the refrigerator behind a decorative panel at the end of the kitchen, which also looks strange.

The heroes of one of the programs dreamed of a bright, spacious room where you can relax, sleep, work and have fun with friends. Unfortunately, the designers had their own vision of the issue, and they decided to literally "put the family in a cage", which was announced from the very beginning of the shoot.
The room after the repair began to resemble a large birdcage or a Chinese box. Instead of a transforming sofa or other modern furniture, the Antipins received a huge bed with a large number of pillows, on which it is simply impossible to receive guests. In addition, the sleeping place on this bed is small, but it itself occupies half the room.
In the corner of the room they placed a white cupboard that looked a lot like a refrigerator. According to the idea, it is designed for hanging clothes, but all the free space in it was enough only for a pair of dresses and trousers, and even without their location along the entire length. The second locker, blue, looks cheap and does not harmonize well with the rest of the decor.
Lighting turned out to be weak, there is a catastrophic lack of light in the dark. Decor, flowers do not combine at all. And, most importantly, the walls are glued with wallpaper of an unpleasant, dark green color with a large, intrusive pattern, which has a pressing feeling. After such repairs, the room was hopelessly damaged, and the owners did not like the new atmosphere at all.

Steamboat terrace Natalia Filippova
Another heroine of the “Housing Question” show, Natalia Filippova, dreamed of remaking the old terrace in the country. Repair of the building lasted 2 months, and all this time a team of 7 people lived in the country. As a result, the project “White Steamboat” brought the hostess a lot of troubles and disappointments. New floors in the house turned into dirty old boards, in the steam room of the sauna, the wood turned up from humidity. The shower cabin in the house was completely broken, however, then a new team arrived, which fixed all the breakdowns and flaws.
The “steamboat” itself also turned out to be not entirely successful. The floors, walls, benches in it are snow-white, and ugly traces of the earth constantly remain below. The floor was poorly impregnated with a protective compound, and on the sides, many boards remained unprocessed. In general, the new terrace looks gorgeous, but quite impractical to use.
As you can see, the opinions of the participants of the program "Housing issue" vary greatly. Some receive the repair of their dreams, while others receive only disappointment from changes. Like any surprise, the result of the repair can cause negative emotions, because the imagination of designers is sometimes unpredictable!
