Various methods have been invented to combat this plaque resulting from metal oxidation. They get rid of it by mechanical, chemical and folk methods. All of them are labor intensive, require investment or damage the surface. One of the effective methods is the use of a composition of cement with milk.

It solidly protects the metal surface from atmospheric corrosion and further oxidation.

The proportions of the mixture are not regulated by any rules and instructions, they are determined empirically. Half a liter of ordinary milk is combined with a small amount of dry cement - from 2 to 3 teaspoons. The composition is thoroughly mixed until smooth and applied with a brush to a dried metal surface. It will take approximately 5 days to fully dry.

Proportions of cement and gypsum in solution

If you do not have time to wait a few days until the solution hardens, the process can be accelerated. To do this, you need to modify the composition of the mixture - add gypsum to it. In this case, maintaining proportions for beginners is very important: an excess of gypsum powder will lead to too quick drying and rapid destruction of the applied coating. Gypsum should be taken no more than 3.5 percent of the volume of the main ingredient.

The optimal ratio of components in the mixture:

• cement - 1 part;
• sand - 3 components;
• water - 0.9 shares.

In practice, these proportions are not always observed by experienced craftsmen: as needed, the volume of water and sand can vary depending on the quality of the ingredients and other conditions.

Proportions of white cement in solution

To improve the appearance of the container undergoing renewal, you can use white cement. Its quantity and ratio with other components for creating the solution are kept the same as in the previous case.

However, the preparation technology of the composition differs in features:

• devices used in such work should be impeccably clean;
• impurities must also be taken in white;
• water must be used purified;
• for reinforced concrete, reinforcement should be protected from corrosion.

Proportions of cement with sawdust in solution

To increase the thermal insulation characteristics of the building material, sawdust is added to the solution. In this case, the ratio of ingredients can be different: two types can be made depending on the need.For a light composition, take the same parts of concrete and sawdust and dilute them with two parts of water.

For a heavy mixture you will need:

• cement - 1 share;
• sand - 2 parts;
• sawdust - 6 components.

A rusted country cask for watering plants or an iron tank in a bath can be successfully and without special expenses restored using a mixture of cement with milk. You only need to know the correct ratio of components.
