SCC announces new titanium dioxide plant

It became known that a new enterprise for the production of titanium dioxide will be opened on the territory of the accelerated development of Seversk. This information was provided by the press service of the Siberian Chemical Combine. The intention to open such a plant was mentioned back in 2015.

Specialists of three state-owned corporations (Rosatom, TVEL, and AtomTOR) considered several possible options for positioning the plant, but SKHK suggested the best option - to open a plant in the developing territory of Seversk to implement investment projects.

The plant will produce not only pigment titanium dioxide, but also electrolytes for producing current chemically, and fluorine-containing products.

As it became known, SCC investments in this project for the production of titanium dioxide will amount to 796.76 million rubles, and the opening date of the plant is set for 2021. It is planned to produce 50 thousand tons of titanium dioxide per year, and 45 specialists will get jobs.

As for fluorine-containing products, it is planned to produce 23 thousand tons per year, and investments will amount to 3.9 billion rubles. Production should begin work in 2022, 600 jobs will be created for specialists.
